Duration: 12 weeks, May 18th - August 7th OR May 26th - August 14th, 2026

About the Role

Our R&D engineers are tasked with designing and developing implant products for the Active Implantable Systems (AIS) group. This includes technologies that monitor, support diagnosis and treat irregular heart rhythms, heart failure, and sudden cardiac arrest. AIS provides devices and therapies for a patient's entire continuum of care, from diagnostic to treatment. This division strives to innovate and create a paradigm shift that can solve unmet clinical needs and change what is possible for patients. At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows an onsite work model, requiring employees to be in our local office at least four days per week. Relocation and housing assistance may be available to those who meet the eligibility criteria. Employees are responsible for their own daily transportation to work. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment VISA for this position at this time.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

Use your problem-solving abilities to perform meaningful engineering work. Have opportunities to expand your professional network. Grow your skillset through a combination of training, hands-on experience, and mentorship. Collaborate with a cross-functional team. Designing, fabricating, and testing prototype devices to address clinical feedback. Analyzing large clinical databases to inform device design and procedural technique. Viewing live and recorded clinical procedures and developing test methods to replicate use.

Required Qualifications:

Former Boston Scientific intern or co-op Must be a rising junior or rising senior (grad dates between Dec 2026 - June 2028), graduating senior (May/June 2026 grad) continuing on to grad school, or current grad student Currently majoring in Electrical or Computer Engineering with Electrical emphasis Must be able to commit to program dates May 18th - August 7th or May 26th - August 14th, 2026 Has or is willing to organize reliable transportation to the work site

Ability to communicate effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams. Passion to learn new technologies and find new solutions.

Compensation: $42,120 - $71,552

The anticipated compensation listed above will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
