Job Summary: The Support Route Driver fills in on open or unassigned routes to support daily delivery operations. This role requires flexibility to cover varying routes and schedules based on business needs while maintaining safety, service, and delivery standards.
Hours and Wages: Monday- Friday, 7:30AM- completion of route 10-15 hours of overtime may be expected each week. Voluntary OT on weekends (as needed). Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week. Starting wage: $20.00- $24.00 per hour, based on experience.
Duties and Responsibilities: Cover open, vacant or temporarily unassigned route based on business needs. Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers. Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle. Load the truck in an organized manner to effectively use space and prevent damage to packages. Collect payments for certain packages delivered. Verify the content of pickups on shipping papers. Notify management of any problems or discrepancies. Maintain professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicle. Travel may be required. Perform other related duties as assigned.
