This supervisor assesses current practices within the Maintenance Division; acquires information on state-of-the-art practices in the industry, and works with managers, supervisors, and mechanics to establish and bring into regular use the best practices available.<span style="color: red;">&nbsp;</span></span></p><strong>Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:</strong> <span style="color: inherit;font-style: normal;text-align: left;text-indent: 0.0px;" data-pasted="true">$42.90/hr. or $89,232/yr. to</span> $62.13/hr. or $129,230/yr.<br><strong>Full Salary Range:</strong> <span style="color: inherit;font-style: normal;text-align: left;text-indent: 0.0px;">$42.90/hr. or $89,232/yr. to</span>&nbsp;$69.33/hr. or $144,206/yr.<ul><li>Ensures all warranty contract terms and conditions are complied with.&nbsp;</li><li>&nbsp;Interacts with the vendor's representative or authorized agent on all aspects of bus maintenance, warranty repairs, preventive repairs, campaigns and or retrofits.</li><li>Coordinates the movement of buses between all Metro Transit service garages and the vendor's off-site repair facilities.</li><li>Conducts regular field visits to garages and remote warranty warehouses to provide technical support and ensure accurate processing of warranty claims.</li><li>Reviews, approves, and records all warranty repairs done off-site, up to and including off-site inspection of repair facilities.</li><li>Oversees the physical inventory of the warranty holding warehouse.</li><li>Edits and analyzes data to track warrantable repairs and or service failure trends.</li><li>Maintains and&nbsp;updates the warranty reporting database as necessary to ensure vendor compliance with Metro Transits warranty policies, procedures and contract provisions.</li><li>Reads, interprets, and implements manufactures written guidelines regarding warranty claim filing, field service procedures, bus maintenance and instruction to service bulletins.</li><li>&nbsp;Reviews all returned claims, balance amount submitted against amount received and reconciles any differences.</li><li>Manages inventory standard costs.</li><li>Participates in warranty contract negotiations.</li><li>Submits fleet defects with the Original Equipment Manufacturers.</li><li>Backfills as a garage supervisor. &nbsp;</li><li>Other duties will be assigned including sharing knowledge with other staff.</li></ul><br><br>Any of the following combinations of progressively responsible experience in <span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);font-style: normal;text-align: left;text-indent: 0.0px;" data-pasted="true">fleet maintenance, heavy-duty vehicle maintenance, vehicle warranty, or closely related experience&nbsp;</span>AND completed education degree in Diesel Mechanics, Automotive Service Technician, Heavy Equipment Mechanic or closely related field&nbsp;<strong>WITH</strong> at least (1) year of supervisory and/or proven leadership experience.<br data-pasted="true">&nbsp;<br><ul type="disc" style="margin-bottom: 3pt;"><li>High school diploma/GED and eight (8) years of experience&nbsp;</li><li>Associate's degree or two-year (2) vocational program and six (6) years of experience</li></ul><br>*<strong>Metropolitan Council Employees Only.&nbsp;</strong>Successful completion of any one of the following four Metropolitan Council Leadership/Supervisory training programs will substitute for lead/supervisory experience. &nbsp;You must attach your certificate(s) as proof of completion of the program to your application. &nbsp;Only completion of one of the four programs listed below will substitute credit (6 months or 1 year) for lead/supervisory experience.<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td valign="top"><strong>Program</strong></td><td valign="top"><strong>Number of years of supervisory experience program counts for&nbsp;</strong></td></tr><tr><td valign="top"><strong>Metro Transit Leadership Academy</strong></td><td valign="top">1 year</td></tr><tr><td valign="top"><strong>Project Management Development Program-12-month session</strong></td><td valign="top">1 year</td></tr><tr><td valign="top"><strong>Project Management Development Program-6-month session</strong></td><td valign="top">6 months</td></tr><tr><td valign="top"><strong>Four Learning Institute Certificates -
