Beltrami County is hiring two temporary Solid Waste Operator I positions. These are full-time, benefited positions governed by the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the County and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #49, with assignments expected to continue through July 31, 2027. Responsibilities include assisting the public by directing traffic to the appropriate sites for disposal of waste, inspecting loads for regulatory compliance, operating forklift, skid steer, telehandler and material handler, sorting waste, facility and equipment maintenance, and related work. Ensures all Beltrami County owned and operated Solid Waste Facilities are operating per the MPCA Permit. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned Solid Waste facility, vehicles, and equipment. Coordinates all activities with the public daily at assigned facility to assist in the proper disposal of Solid Waste within Beltrami County. Maintains all facilities, vehicles, grounds, and equipment. Preferred hiring salary range is $22.54 to $24.62 per hour with a full range of $22.54 to $28.54 per hour. Placement depends on factors such as qualifications, internal equity, market conditions, and applicable policy guidelines.
