Senior ServiceNow Developer
GovCIO is currently hiring for a Senior ServiceNow Developer to support the design, development, and maintenance of mission-enabling applications for the U.S. Coast Guard. This is a remote position.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and configure applications within the ServiceNow platform, utilizing App Engine, Flow Designer, and UI Builder to meet mission objectives with minimal manual coding.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze requirements and translate operational needs into scalable, functional scoped applications and ServiceNow modules.
- Execute the full Software Development Life Cycle utilizing diverse methodologies, including Scrum, Agile, DevSecOps, Lean, and Waterfall, ensuring ServiceNow releases are delivered on schedule.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to platform integration, MID Server configuration, deployment, and functional defects.
- Minimize technical debt by applying ServiceNow best practices and platform governance to ensure "out-of-the-box" alignment.
- Maintain cybersecurity compliance by developing ServiceNow applications that conform to USCG system security requirements and federal data protection standards.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, including Software Product Documentation, Update Set logs, and updates to the Software Lifecycle Management Plan.
- Support application lifecycle activities, including the migration of legacy workflows into ServiceNow and the modernization of existing platform modules.
- Provide technical insights regarding ServiceNow platform capabilities, governance models, and digital transformation strategies.
Qualifications:
High School with 10+ years (or commensurate experience)
Required Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated experience developing on the ServiceNow platform.
- Proven ability to execute the Software Development Life Cycle using modern frameworks such as Agile, DevOps, or DevSecOps in a mission-critical environment.
- Experience securing ServiceNow applications in accordance with USCG, DoD, DHS, or federal cybersecurity policies.
- Proficiency in systems integration, including connecting ServiceNow with external data sources, APIs, and enterprise infrastructure.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to participate in technical discussions and translate requirements between stakeholders and engineering teams.
- Ability to manage tasks in a fast-paced environment, focusing on platform scalability and operational readiness.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience supporting U.S. Coast Guard or Department of Homeland Security (DHS) programs.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow Governance or the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
- ServiceNow Certifications (e.g., Certified Application Developer or Certified Implementation Specialist).
- Familiarity with enterprise IT governance and hybrid cloud integration.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and continuous improvement mindset.
Posted Salary Range: USD $130,000.00 - USD $161,000.00 /Yr.
