Registration Student Customer Service Support

The Professional Development and Lifelong Learning (PDL) Registration Team is looking for student workers to help with several customer service and administrative functions, including responding to routine emails and phone calls, assisting with data entry for registration databases, providing basic technical troubleshooting for learners registering in and attending non-credit offerings, and other duties as assigned. We are looking for students who can be available 8-16 hours per week for shifts during business hours of 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. This is a remote position. Work schedules can vary based on your course schedule. Work for a phenomenal team and College that's student and staff-centered! The Registration team will review applications on a rolling basis until all positions are filled. The position pays $15.25 per hour.

Duties:

  • Respond to routine emails
  • Answer the phone and route calls as necessary
  • Provide basic technical support in Zoom or other needs to learners
  • Enter data into registration system(s) and ticketing system
  • Direct calls to other PDL, CCAPS, or UMN departments as needed
  • Provide support to registration team members
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

REQUIRED:

  • A demonstrative skill & commitment to supporting an inclusive environment in a professional setting
  • Registered U of M undergraduate student
  • Experience with Google Suite
  • Experience using Zoom
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Must have ability to work in a team environment, take direction, and also take initiative to work independently
  • Must be organized, accurate, and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask

PREFERRED:

  • Experience in a customer service role
  • Proven interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with customer databases (e.g. Salesforce or similar)

The registration team provides registration services, financial processing, and first-tier customer service to learners participating in non-credit professional development programs, conferences, and personal enrichment programming housed in the College of Continuing and Professional Studies (CCAPS). In CCAPS you'll find supportive colleagues who are committed to empowering lifelong learners to achieve their educational goals in a learner-centric environment where diverse ideas, backgrounds, and identities are embraced. CCAPS has a large and diverse portfolio of program offerings, including bachelor's and master's degrees, professional development offerings for practitioners, pre-college programs for high school students, English language programs, and lifelong learning for personal enrichment. Pay and Benefits:

Pay Range: $15.25/hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Student workers are eligible to participate in the Student Health Benefit Plan, if they maintain 6 or more eligible course credits within a given semester. The same applies for Undergraduate Students, Graduate Assistants, Residents, Fellows and Interns.
