Part-Time Programmable Logic Adjunct Faculty in Electrical and Computer Engineer

Applications are invited for a part-time adjunct faculty position in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Minnesota Duluth. This adjunct faculty position is a non-tenure-track appointment for spring semester 2026, January 1 - May 17, 2026. The primary role of this position is to develop and teach course EE 4371/5371 Programmable Logic Controllers, 4 credits Lecture T, Th 4:00-5:15, Lab Th 1:00-3:50.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and teach a course in Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Demonstrate high command of the subject matter
  • Have a well organized course plan and deliver the course clearly to students
  • Help students fulfill their academic needs
  • Assess and grade student learning and hold office hours

Qualifications Required:

  • M.S. (instructor) or Ph.D. (assistant professor)
  • Experience either in course work or a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering
  • Effective written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of relevant college-level teaching experience
  • Two or more years of professional experience in a relevant field
  • Expertise in using technology for teaching
  • Demonstrated experience with assessment
  • Evidence of the ability to work effectively with diverse groups

Pay and Benefits:

Pay Range: $7,600-$11,885 for 4 credit course; depending on education/qualifications/experience Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty, Labor-Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp Casual classifications.
