This position is for one (1) Office Support Specialist. The salary offered is $22.13 - $33.48 hourly. Benefits include 401(k) or other retirement, dental insurance, health insurance, holidays, sick leave or PTO, vacation or PTO, and vision plan.
Work type is regular, weekdays, first shift, 40 hours per week.
The education required is a high school diploma or GED. Experience required is 24 months. Successful candidates will have high school diploma or GED, moderate experience (1-3 years) in a customer service or clerical capacity, ability to pass a standard background check, and a valid driver's license.
Preferred skills include general knowledge of the programs, policies and procedures of county human services, general knowledge of social services laws and regulations, comprehensive skill operating standard office equipment and related hardware and software, general skill composing and proofreading documents, notes, handouts and manuals, ability to take oral and written direction, ability to organize tasks and workflow with a limited amount of direction, ability to understand and make basic mathematical calculations, ability to process paperwork in a timely and efficient manner, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public, ability to effectively communicate complex program information to clients, and ability to type at a reasonable rate of speed.
Essential functions include directly assisting the public through face to face or telephone contact, providing authorized information about cases and forwarding inquiries to the appropriate staff person when not authorized, scheduling and tracking appointments for client intakes, eligibility reviews, etc., scanning documents, performing standard clerical assistance duties such as maintaining calendars, filing, printing items, making copies, processing EBT cards and maintaining related inventory, accepting payments and issuing receipts, preparing correspondence, processing incoming and posting outgoing mail, providing EBT usage data at the request of the fraud investigator or eligibility staff, determining status of cases when applications arrive and opening new cases when necessary, determining client needs and matching their needs to appropriate programs when they present at our agency, accessing and updating more than 10 complex, program-specific electronic database systems to support clients and co-workers, assisting workers in the application process for licensed programs, including background study processing, tracking child support payments, completing assistance verification documents for housing agencies, gathering documentation for health care audits and forwarding to appropriate agency, monitoring inventory levels and maintaining office supplies, performing minor office equipment maintenance, creating and maintaining case files, monitoring record retention schedules, assembling program materials, and performing related work as assigned.
