Job Description

The Material Handler works across multiple warehouse departments to support shipping, receiving, and general material movement. This role involves picking and packing orders, operating material handling equipment, and loading or unloading trucks, while adapting to different tasks and areas of the warehouse as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work in a variety of warehouse departments and remain flexible to move between areas based on daily operational needs.
• Pick and pack products accurately using pick sheets to fulfill customer and internal orders.
• Use RF scanners to locate, scan, and track inventory and orders within the warehouse.
• Build pallets and break down boxes to prepare products for storage or shipment.
• Operate pallet jacks safely to move materials and products throughout the warehouse.
• Drive material handling equipment such as reach trucks, stand-up forklifts, sit-down forklifts, and tuggers when required.
• Load and unload trucks using lifts, pallet jacks, or by hand, ensuring safe and efficient handling of materials.
• Support shipping and receiving activities, including working at dock doors to process incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Use the warehouse ERP system (Epicor) to enter, update, and review shipping, receiving, and inventory information as needed.
• Cross-train with production teams when required to support overall warehouse and production operations.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience working in a warehouse environment.
• Flexibility and willingness to work in different departments and perform a variety of tasks each day.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving, loading, and unloading materials.
• Comfort working with RF scanners for picking and inventory tasks.
• Ability to safely operate pallet jacks within a warehouse setting.
• Basic ability to follow pick sheets and written instructions accurately.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1+ year of forklift experience, including reach trucks, stand-up, and sit-down forklifts.
• Experience in shipping and receiving within a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Ability to cross-train and assist with production-related tasks.
• Ability to use a computer to work within ERP systems such as Epicor.

Work Environment

The warehouse environment is fast-paced yet clean and well organized, providing a structured setting for daily operations. Team members may rotate between departments and tasks, which keeps the work dynamic and varied. The facility operates on multiple shifts, including a first shift from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., a second shift from 3:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., and a weekend shift from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Work involves regular use of RF scanners, pallet jacks, and, when applicable, forklifts and other material handling equipment, with a focus on safety and efficiency throughout the warehouse.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fridley, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $25.50/hr.
