Assists to operate and maintain Bethel's HVAC, lighting and plumbing system. Responsibilities include troubleshooting campus HVAC equipment issues, installing, servicing, and repairing failed equipment, performing preventative maintenance on campus HVAC equipment, managing filter HVAC filter inventory, troubleshooting campus electrical issues, providing support for the electrical division, troubleshooting campus plumbing issues, providing support for the plumbing division, supervising and scheduling technical services student workers, and being on-call for technical services functions.
Required skills include familiarity with combustion and efficiency testing, Building Automation Systems, variable frequency drives, effective communication, strong organizational skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and maintaining a valid driver's license. Preferred experience includes 2+ years of HVAC (commercial or residential) and boiler experience, and a Special Class C Boiler License.
This position requires little to no travel and operates in a professional office environment. The job operates in a professional office environment and may require entering active construction sites and accessing areas of the university that vary in temperature. The physical demands include sitting and traversing the Bethel Campus on a regular basis. Reasonable accommodations may be made to ensure people are able to perform the essential functions.
Typically, days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with the expectation to work specific schedules and hours as identified and communicated by management. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This is a 40 hour per week, 12 months per year position.
