Assists to operate and maintain Bethel's HVAC, lighting and plumbing system. Responsibilities include troubleshooting campus HVAC equipment issues, installing, servicing, and repairing failed equipment, performing preventative maintenance on campus HVAC equipment, managing filter HVAC filter inventory, troubleshooting campus electrical issues, providing support for the electrical division, assisting electrical related work requests and helping maintain electrical systems on the campus, troubleshooting campus plumbing issues, providing support for the plumbing division, assisting plumbing related work requests and helping maintain plumbing systems on the campus, supervising and scheduling technical services student workers, supervising and scheduling housing maintenance student workers during the summer, and being on-call for technical services functions.
Required skills include familiarity with combustion and efficiency testing, Building Automation Systems, variable frequency drives, effective communication, strong organizational skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and maintaining a valid driver's license. Preferred experience includes 2+ years of HVAC (commercial or residential) and boiler experience, and a Special Class C Boiler License.
Education required is a high school diploma or equivalent. This position requires little to no travel and operates in a professional office environment. Physical demands include the ability to talk and hear, close vision and ability to adjust focus, extended periods of sitting, and traversing the Bethel Campus on a regular basis.
