Hospital Services Representative/Driver

This position assists in assuring adequate component inventory for internal and external customer needs. Assists in assuring compliance with federal regulations and industry standards. Provides outstanding customer service to internal and external customers. Approximately 75% of the job is spent in hospital services department and 25% of the job is driving and delivering orders. Schedule: 2nd Shift - Sun - Thursday 2pm - 10:30pm (with training Mon - Fri 2pm - 10:30pm for about 8 weeks)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performing and overseeing daily hospital service tasks (HSRD-1 tasks) Hospital Orders: Consigning Shipping Packing Reconciliation Irradiation/modification
  • Performing timely driving functions Delivering hospital transfusion services blood component orders. Performing whole blood pick-ups from collections van/mobiles/fixed sites. Performing sample pick-ups for reference lab, donor testing, and nat lab.
  • Customer Service Responsible for daily interactions with our hospital customers. Daily telephone communications with the hospital transfusion services allows for correct orders and component shipments
  • Equipment Maintenance Maintains adequate knowledge of departmental equipment operation to monitor and troubleshoot problem situations with the maintenance department and equipment support services.
  • Maintains hospital services vehicles, department supplies, required forms, and reports.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of federal regulations and industry standards for the storage, labeling, distribution, and transport of blood component.

The hourly rate for this position is $20.05/hr. (plus applicable shift differentials) IBR also offers comprehensive benefits (including medical, vision, dental, paid time off, and sick days) to full and part-time employees, as well as the opportunity to participate in a 403(b)-retirement plan with a generous employer contribution.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school education or equivalent
  • Physical: Ability to lift up to 50lbs and continuous movement in and out of vehicle
  • Other: Ability to work well with others and independently 2 years of driving and/or customer service experience Good driving record Good communication skills; both oral and written Ability to learn required computer functions and programs Attention to detail
