Health Services Assistant

The Health Services Assistant supports the Health Services department by assisting with employee care, administrative functions, and communication. This role plays a key part in promoting employee health, ensuring accurate documentation, and supporting daily Health Services operations in a fast-paced production environment.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead pre-shift health screenings as assigned
  • Assist with employee care and first aid under the direction of Health Services staff
  • Provide translation services (English/Spanish/Creole) for employees during Health Services visits, physical therapy appointments, and related interactions
  • Assist with hearing tests and other basic health-related screenings
  • Complete filing, data entry, and maintain accurate Health Services records
  • Support coordination of employee care, including appointments and follow-ups as needed
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all employee health information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Assist with Health Services programs such as stretches, early intervention, and follow-up initiatives
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental and operational needs

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPR and/or First Aid Certification
  • Previous experience in healthcare, occupational health, or related field
  • Basic computer and data entry skills
  • Experience with translation or interpretation in a professional setting
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (speak, read, and write)

Acceptable Certifications (Preferred but Not Required):

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
  • Paramedic
  • Home Health Aide (HHA)
  • Physical Therapy Aide
  • Athletic Trainer

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as needed

Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced industrial/production environment
  • Frequent interaction with employees across departments
  • May involve standing, walking, and assisting employees throughout the shift
