Field Service Technician I
The Field Service Technician provides onsite and remote technical support for instruments within TSI's particle measurement portfolio. Responsibilities include performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting equipment issues, including break/fix repair activities. Many service requests begin with telephone-based diagnostics and may progress to onsite service or factory repair as needed. This role involves frequent customer interaction and may include application support to help customers effectively operate and utilize their instruments.
In order to grow and build a successful career with TSI, you will be responsible for:
- Travel to TSI customer sites to install, calibration, repair, and perform annual maintenance on TSI products.
- Provide in-person technical support and troubleshooting for customers, and serve as part of the escalation path for phone-based technical inquiries.
- Support remote and onsite troubleshooting of customer hardware and software issues.
- Order, maintain, and manage inventory of parts required for installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
- Conduct customer training on the operation and maintenance of TSI equipment & software.
- Assist with in-house technical workshops, including system setup for demos and presentations.
- Provide feedback to support the development, revision, and updating of service procedures and technical documentation.
- Contribute insights and recommendations for new product or technology development.
- Complete detailed trip reports and submit accurate labor and expense reimbursements.
What do you need?
Required:
- Associate's degree in a technical discipline and 1-3 years of relevant technical or field service experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport and travel internationally as required.
Desired:
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Electronics, Industrial Technology or related discipline.
- Experience providing field service or technical support in a business or customer-facing environment.
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
- Field troubleshooting and repair practices.
- Communication and presentation methods.
- Standard electronic troubleshooting equipment (DVMs, oscilloscopes, etc.).
- Ability to plan and work successfully and independently on simultaneous projects.
- Ability to present technical information in a systematic and convincing manner.

Pay & benefits: Competitive market salary from $60,000 - $70,000 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities may be available and awarded at the discretion of the Company. Benefits:
