Administrative Associate

The Administrative Associate plays a vital role in supporting clinical and billing operations within a healthcare environment. This position is responsible for insurance verification, accurate patient record management, and front‑desk and scheduling support. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, customer‑focused, and comfortable serving as a primary point of contact for clients with basic billing and insurance questions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify medical insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements prior to client appointments.
  • Communicate with insurance carriers to clarify coverage details, referrals, and claim‑related questions.
  • Collect, verify, and accurately document patient demographic and insurance information in designated systems.
  • Support scheduling activities, including appointment coordination and intake processes.
  • Assist with front‑desk operations by greeting clients, answering phones, and directing inquiries professionally.
  • Serve as a primary contact for clients regarding basic billing and insurance questions, ensuring clear and courteous communication.
  • Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with clinical and billing teams to resolve coverage, documentation, or authorization issues.
  • Perform general administrative duties including data entry, filing, scanning, and phone support.
  • Effectively prioritize and manage multiple administrative tasks in a fast‑paced, client‑focused environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of administrative experience in a healthcare or behavioral health setting.
  • Hands‑on experience with medical insurance verification.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare terminology and insurance processes.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service in a client‑focused environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast‑paced setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous insurance verification experience within a healthcare or behavioral health environment.
  • Experience supporting both clinical and administrative teams.
  • Comfort working with confidential and sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.75 - $26.75/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms. If eligible, the benefits available for this temporary role may include the following:
