This role focuses on highly accurate, hands-on work with very small components, using microscopes or projection scopes as needed to ensure each connection meets quality and performance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Measure, cut, and prepare fiber cable according to detailed blueprints or enlarged work instructions.
  • Place prepared fiber cables into clips and fixtures to support accurate assembly.
  • Feed small, color-coded wires through connectors in the precise order required, ensuring perfect accuracy of placement.
  • Apply a small, controlled drop of epoxy to the assembled wires and pull them through to create a complete coating over the entire surface.
  • Place assemblies into curing devices to properly dry and set the epoxy coating.
  • Run assembled units through a final polishing stage to meet quality and performance specifications.
  • Test completed assemblies to verify that all connections function correctly and meet established standards.
  • Use small hand tools, microscopes, or projection scopes to handle and inspect very small parts during assembly.
  • Follow clean room protocols and maintain a tidy, organized work area to support high-quality production.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions to perform assembly tasks accurately and consistently.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to learn new processes and contribute suggestions for process improvements.

  • Meet production, quality, and safety expectations while maintaining attention to detail in repetitive, fine-motor tasks.

Essential Skills

  • 6 months to 1+ year of manufacturing experience, preferably in small parts assembly or medical device assembly.
  • Experience working with very small components, such as guidewires, catheters, or fine wiring assemblies.
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints, work instructions, and production documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to understand instructions and collaborate with the team.
  • Ability to accurately distinguish and work with different wire colors, ensuring correct placement and order.
  • Microscope experience or the ability and comfort to perform detailed work under a microscope or projection scope.
  • Proficiency using small hand tools for precision assembly tasks.
  • High level of manual dexterity and fine motor skills to handle delicate parts without damage.
  • Consistent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, defect-free assemblies.
  • Ability to work productively in a clean room environment and follow established procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in medical assembly, catheter assembly, wire assembly, or electronics assembly.
  • Familiarity with epoxy application, curing processes, and polishing of small assemblies.
  • Experience in production environments that require precise wiring and connector assembly.
  • Comfort working in a new, rapidly growing division where processes and workflows may evolve.
  • Willingness to provide feedback and suggestions to improve processes and efficiency.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and support overtime needs when required, including occasional Fridays.
  • Interest in long-term growth opportunities into lead, supervisory, quality, or other advanced roles.
