Job Description

You will have to carry out responsible and safe work. You will be responsible for carrying out preventive maintenance and repairing our equipment at our various customers' sites. Learn the application procedures of our refractory products, follow the complete data, as well as summarize daily events. Actively participate in the safety and operational excellence program.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Ability to work and perform all tasks safely

• Have mechanical skills on industrial equipment

• Be able to identify problems with equipment

• Learn how to use and repair our application equipment

• Understand our refractory products and the different applications in a steel mill.

• Fill out all required documents correctly

• Willingness to be available for after-hours service calls

• Flexible with all working hours, day, night and weekend

• Ability to follow instructions and work independently if necessary

• Work well in a team environment

Qualifications

Knowledge: At least a secondary V high school diploma (or equivalent). Mechanical skills. Must be able to communicate in writing and orally in French, and if possible in English this will be an asset.

Skills and abilities: Mechanical aptitude, time management, ability to plan and prioritize multiple tasks. Reliable employee with the ability to learn quickly.

Physical and mental: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to withstand the constant physical pressures of standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, squatting, reaching and sitting. Working conditions vary from warm to cold winter temperatures, as well as carrying, lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy objects. Conscientious and with a sense of pride in work to meet the high expectations of our customers.

Obligations: Respond to calls for service and work overtime as required. Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle at all times. This position requires availability and punctuality.
