The Manufacturing Engineer (ME) is one of the most important components of the lean manufacturing and business process. The ME is responsible for driving the most complete levels of understanding and execution of problem solving, the continuous improvement process, and performing critical data analysis that helps the business understand and improve its operations. An expert at process optimization and documentation, the ME creates the standards of the business through rapid experiments, formal standard work, standard operating procedures, checklists, startup processes, troubleshooting guides, etc. Proficient at teaching and coaching, the ME elevates those in the plant by teaching them the continuous improvement tools and coaches others to utilize the tools. One of the most versatile resources in the plant, the ME will work closely with the Plant Manager, other internal plant resources, and company-wide resources to solve the needs of the business.

Education:
Bachelor of Science Engineering (BSE) degree in Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
Certifications:
Six Sigma, or other lean certifications, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Travel: <10%. Travel is not required for daily functions but will be required for occasional visits to other plants for bench marking and knowledge sharing.
Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, an employee is regularly exposed to dust, loud noise, height, confined spaces, very low and/or bright light, and outside weather conditions.
Work Hours:
Must have ability to work the shift/number of hours in which duties need to be accomplished, including overtime, holidays, and weekends, as necessary. Requiring availability to address urgent repairs or emergencies.
Safety Equipment:
Safety equipment typically required while performing the duties of this job includes a lockout/tagout lock, ANSI approved hard hat and safety glasses with side shields, safety boots/shoes with steel toe protection, and cut resistant gloves. Hearing protection is required in certain areas. Additional personal protective equipment is available for use if a situation arises where it becomes required or if it is simply desired by the employee.
