Microsoft is a company where passionate innovators come to collaborate, envision what can be and take their careers further. This is a world of more possibilities, more innovation, more openness, and the sky is the limit thinking in a cloud-enabled world.
The Microsoft Capacity Infrastructure Services team in Azure Core is responsible for provisioning new capacity (servers, networking) to enable Azure customers to leverage the latest offerings, see the illusion of infinite capacity, and grow the Azure business efficiently at hyperscale. After running for many years, the cycle is continued by safely taking old capacity offline (decommissioning/deprovisioning) and provisioning new capacity again in its place thus ensuring the cloud remains healthy and current. When portions of the cloud need to be reconfigured to be optimized to current demands, it needs to be done as quickly and efficiently as possible to capture the most value – and it needs to be done at cloud scale.
As a Principal Software Engineering Manager - Azure Core, you’ll work with a breadth of partners across Microsoft including developers in service teams, hardware engineers, network engineers, datacenter technicians, supply chain managers, and business leaders to enable the seamless update of hardware and the corresponding software systems that run Microsoft’s cloud.
This opportunity will enable you to learn unparalleled system-wide knowledge of how the Azure cloud is built and maintained. The contacts you make with experts will enable you to deep dive on services and new technologies. You’ll partner with them to develop improvements to increase agility and efficiency.
