Scope Of Position

Under general supervision of department manager performs a variety of general clerical functions for nursing unit including transcribing physicians' orders, maintaining patients' records, routing charts and records, arranging for patient care services (lab tests, x-rays, etc.), answering telephones, answering patient call lights to send appropriate help.

Required Qualifications

Education: Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Skills: Six weeks to three months of on-the-job training is required to learn the unit's routine, policies, and procedures. Years of Experience: N/A License: N/A Certification: N/A

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer previous experience as a unit/ward clerk including computer (order entry) and medical terminology.
