Validation Engineer

We are seeking a hard-working, innovative, and curious Validation Engineer to join our Global Powertrain & Electrification Validation team. This team ensures our Electrified Propulsion and Powertrain products—including batteries, drive units, power electronics, transmissions, and engines—deliver exceptional performance and reliability for our customers. This is a hands-on role where creativity, independent judgment, and cross-functional collaboration are highly valued and continuously developed. Engineers in this role may grow into Lead System Test Engineers (LSTE), gaining leadership experience and mentoring opportunities while contributing to advanced validation methods and fixture development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, methods, and automation to support validation sign-off
  • Apply analytical tools throughout the validation process
  • Support Agile team-based structures with rotating assignments in test execution and process innovation
  • Operate safely in state-of-the-art lab environments
  • Investigate testing anomalies and generate detailed reports
  • Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for system-level hardware issues
  • Analyze and peer-review test results; contribute to data-driven efficiency initiatives
  • Engage in product development programs from design through launch
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments and validation engineers
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and competitive products

Education Requirements:

  • One of the following degrees is required: BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of post-graduation engineering experience
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in diverse team environments
  • Ability to quickly learn complex system functions (e.g., engine, transmission, electric propulsion systems)
  • Proven ability to influence without direct authority

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with electrical, thermal, or chemical modeling and simulation
  • Willingness to learn through varied training methods
  • Proficiency with Inca and/or Puma Calibration and development experience
  • Strong data-driven decision-making skills
  • Analytical ability to solve complex problems
  • Familiarity with lab operations and equipment (e.g., dynamometers, environmental chambers, test automation)
  • Experience with RESS (battery) durability and safety testing
  • Knowledge of Li-Ion battery cells, modules, and systems
