Join us as a Threader on the Fire & Fabrication team. This is a hands-on role responsible for laying out, cutting, grooving, threading, and assembling pipe to meet customer specifications. You'll work with saws, threading machines, and material handling equipment to ensure quality fabrication while maintaining a strong focus on safety and teamwork. This position is first shift, with availability required starting at 5:00 AM.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Meet or exceed customer expectations by supporting a positive and professional experience.
- Accurately read a tape measure and interpret layout sheets.
- Identify pipe fittings and safely move pipe materials.
- Operate saws, threading, and make-on machines to process pipe.
- Perform pipe assembly operations to customer specifications.
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervision.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Perform preventive machine maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
- Demonstrate dependable attendance and a commitment to safe work practices.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six months of related manufacturing or fabrication experience preferred, or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Working knowledge of basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations in a shop environment.
- Strong communication, teamwork, judgment, and adaptability skills.
- Basic computer literacy.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Must be able to pass a powered industrial equipment operator exam (e.g., forklift certification).
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Regularly required to talk, hear, walk, use hands, and reach with arms.
- Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds.
- Must remain alert and perform job functions safely.
- Vision requirements include distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Work may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions, and vibrations.
- Moderate noise levels are typical.
- Must pass a substance abuse screening.
