Systems Engineer

Talascend is currently seeking a Systems Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Novi, Michigan. This role involves collaborating with teams and customers to develop electrical, electronics, and mechatronics control system safety work products, while establishing high standards of technical capability and quality.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with other teams and customers to develop electrical, electronics and mechatronics control system safety work products such as: System Safety and Reliability Assessment, Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) or Common Cause Analysis (CCA)
• Work with a cross-functional team to establish the highest standards of technical capability, quality, professionalism, and teamwork
• Provide and support engineering and process guidance, training and create documentation
• Prepare and review engineering work products for technical documentation, quality, completeness
• Resolve complex problems through the application of acquired technical experience and knowledge
• Develop and communicate complex technical ideas and information in a concise and logical way

Qualifications:

• Engineering degree (preferably a BS in a STEM discipline) with a minimum of 5 years of experience OR MS in STEM with a minimum of 3 years of experience

Requirements:

• US citizenship
• Gas turbine experience
• Experience with requirements definition
• Experience with systems integration
• Experience with system certification of a regulated product
• Experience with developing safety-critical software

Shift: Hybrid remote preferred
