Sr. Applications Engineer - vision Systems (multiple Openings)

Apply image processing tools to extract relevant information for the application, configure system software to communicate results to a plant PLC, and specify vision materials while generating system bills of material. Leverage robotics engineering expertise to ensure proper integration of the vision system into automated assembly lines. Conduct statistical analysis to prove six sigma reliability and support production with system adjustments based on increased data sets, repeating analysis for customer acceptance. Train customers on system operation, generate and document vision feasibility studies both in the lab and field, and design optical systems, cameras, and lighting to acquire images of desired components. Responsibilities also include reviewing specifications, establishing design requirements, managing material responsibilities, assisting in installation and debugging, providing launch support, and developing 'as-builts' documentation.

Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor -- Electrical Engineering, Robotics Engineering or a related engineering field of study. Will accept equivalent of foreign degree. Experience: Five (5) years in the position above or in a related engineering role. Experience must include: 1. Integrating vision systems into automated cells; 2. Developing programs using camera interfaces and object oriented programming; 3. Designing camera lights and mounds; and 4. AutoCAD, Solidworks and PLC Programming.

Location: Wixom MI, 48393 Travel within the U.S. and Canada required up to 20% of the time to support camera inspection systems for assembly lines.
