System Center Configuration Manager Administrator
This team works exclusively within the Windows desktop environment and is responsible for supporting internal customers across multiple locations. The EUC (End User Computing) Engineering team (within the BPS team) includes dedicated resources to choose new desktops/laptops, base platform development, software packaging/distribution, and Group Policy management.
Job Summary: Serve as System Center Configuration Manager Administrator, responsible for performing all aspects of SCCM application packaging, deployment, support and maintenance of applications.
Skills:
- Extensive experience in the implementation, administration, configuration and support of SCCM Enterprise environment.
- Experience with desktop deployment automation architecture, design/migration and troubleshooting.
- Experience managing an OS image for large corporate environments.
- Contribute to development and ongoing improvement of industry best practices and standards for deploying enterprise desktop technologies.
- Knowledge of the Windows registry, interaction of drivers within the OS, and unattended/silent installs of Windows operating systems.
- Packaging, Deployment, and Administration of Packaged Applications.
- Evaluate emerging technologies to ensure technical solutions are compatible with the company's business needs and strategic objectives.
- Provide technical expertise, guidance and strategic recommendations to other IT groups.
- Functional working and debugging knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Investigate, analyze and resolve technical issues and actively pursue mechanisms for preventing, or automating the response to reoccurrences.
General Experience: 3 years of experience in administrative, technical work which demonstrated the ability and aptitudes, required to perform technical or analytical work and coordination involving management information systems. Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in the following:
- Experience managing and designing an OS image for large corporate environments.
- Experience in SCCM administration, patching and maintenance.
- Experience implementing security policies for applications and operating systems utilizing Group Policy.
- Experience utilizing automated technologies for the deployment of desktop systems.
- Client level support (Windows, Application packaging, & software distribution)
- This team manages SCCM, Intune, and all application packaging.
- Team focus is supporting operations technology that controls air & gas device management.
- Scope of work - Applications packaged and deployed to workstations to limit local admin access. SCCM is the primary packaging tool.
- They need someone to come in and work with the team to get updates and software packages out to old devices.
- Certain apps will require multiple versions.
- Will package and deploy these applications to streamline and work to get everyone on the same versions with their standard laptops.
- 82 applications to package that have been identified but there will be more.
Top Skills/Job Duties:
- Candidate needs a strong understanding of applications packages and SCCM.
- Want SCCM packager but does not need to be an SCCM expert as a whole.
- Need to be autonomous and hit the ground running with packaging but will have team of MS engineers they can use as resources.
- Package, deploy, and monitor.
- Troubleshoot error codes and manage distribution points.
- Will be moving to Windows 11 but running on Windows 10 right now.
- Hardware is standard Dell laptops.
- Troubleshoot applications that have failed to install.
- Do not need to know the functionality of the software.
- Will need to tweak settings for some of the users.
- Identified 82 applications that they will need to package.
- Scripting with PowerShell will be important.
- Hardware, software, ports, drivers and customizations that will be packaged.
Skills: Desktop, Office 365, Windows 10, Troubleshooting, Customer service, Hardware, Technical support, SCCM Exposure to enterprise applications used by IT and Corporate clients (i.e. Service Now, Microstation, Clarity, SAP, etc.) Experience in supporting mixed printing environments (printers, MFDs, plotters, etc.) Knowledge of company business processes including Work Order processing, AutoCAD, eSOMS, Primavera, Direct Customer Office (DCO), etc Experience in supporting/using handheld devices (BARCODE, Panasonic Toughbooks and Toughpads, etc.) Experience using Microsoft SCCM to deploy software and manage PC's Experience utilizing call management tools (i.e., ServiceNow, etc.)
Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $47.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
