Sales/Business Development

We are seeking an experienced sales/business development detail oriented with a strong background in the propane industry. This individual will be responsible for driving new business, expanding market share, and strengthening relationships across residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial propane customers throughout the Midwest region—focused primarily on Michigan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow propane distribution revenue across assigned territories.
  • Build and maintain relationships with residential, commercial, and agricultural propane users, distributors, and partners.
  • Identify new business opportunities, including tank installations, service agreements, commercial accounts, fleet/autogas, and agricultural use cases.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to position offerings effectively.
  • Partner with operations teams to ensure seamless delivery, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and propane association functions across Michigan.
  • Manage a sales pipeline, reporting metrics, forecasting, and progress regularly.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and long-term service agreements in alignment with company goals.

Requirements:

  • 3–5+ years of sales or business development experience within the propane, fuel, HVAC, or related energy sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of propane distribution, storage, tanks, safety, or agricultural propane applications.
  • Existing network within Michigan's propane, rural energy, or HVAC markets preferred.
  • Proven track record of territory growth and customer acquisition.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel across Michigan for customer visits and industry events.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Self-driven, goal-oriented, and comfortable operating independently.
  • Naturally consultative with a solutions-focused approach.
  • Experienced in rural energy markets, residential fuel delivery, or agricultural propane usage.
  • Comfortable representing the organization at the Michigan Propane Gas Association and other regional groups.
