Production Engineer

The Production Engineer will work in a manufacturing setting, collaborating with production and quality teams to ensure machines and manufacturing equipment operate efficiently. With a focus on continuous improvement, the engineer will identify and troubleshoot issues, particularly on mold lines, oven lines, and air transport systems for sand. This role is in a smaller plant, with about 50-60 employees, offering opportunities to take on additional responsibilities over time.

Responsibilities:

• Operate machinery independently with minimal supervision.
• Identify equipment issues and make the necessary corrections to increase efficiency.
• Collaborate with the production team to drive performance and meet operational targets.

Essential Skills:

• 2 years of experience working with manufacturing equipment.
• Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Experience in implementing continuous improvement to increase efficiency.
• Basic understanding of Mitsubishi series A and Q.
• Mechanical Engineering Degree.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of a Fanuc Robot and 24-volt electrical systems.
• Engineering degree with internship experience.

Work Environment:

This position is at a leading tier two supplier of sand cores for the automotive industry. The work environment includes manufacturing cores for castings of brake rotors and water passages. The typical work schedule is four 10-hour shifts, with occasional work on Fridays as needed. Candidates should be comfortable with flexible hours to meet production demands.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Coldwater, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
