Production Engineer

In this role, the Production Engineer will work in a manufacturing setting, collaborating closely with production and quality teams to ensure the efficient operation of machines and manufacturing equipment. The engineer will focus on continuous improvement to identify and troubleshoot issues specifically on mold lines, oven lines, and air transport systems for sand. As part of a smaller plant with about 50-60 employees, there will be opportunities to take on additional responsibilities over time.

Responsibilities:

• Operate machinery independently with minimal supervision.
• Identify equipment issues and make necessary corrections to enhance efficiency.
• Collaborate with the production team to drive performance and achieve operational targets.

Essential Skills:

• Two years of experience working with manufacturing equipment.
• Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Experience implementing continuous improvement processes to increase efficiency.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of a Fanuc Robot and 24-volt electrical systems.
• Recent graduates with an engineering degree and internship experience are encouraged to apply.

Work Environment:

This position is within a manufacturing setting at a plant with approximately 50-60 employees. The work environment is dynamic, offering opportunities to wear multiple hats and take on additional responsibilities. The standard work schedule consists of 10-hour shifts with occasional extra hours on Fridays if necessary. The plant is a leading tier two supplier of sand cores for the automotive industry, manufacturing cores for castings of brake rotors and water passages.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Coldwater, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
