Power Supply Systems Engineer - Electrical/SW

We are seeking a highly capable and proactive Power Supply Systems Engineer to support the engineering unit and vehicle deliverables for next-generation power supply component systems, crucial for Ford's future vehicles. This role involves comprehensive responsibilities from concept and product definition through development, validation, and launch, ensuring the robustness and performance of our power supply systems.
Core Engineering & Development:
- Support engineering unit and vehicle deliverables for next-generation power supply component systems that will support Ford's next-generation vehicles.
- Collaborate with suppliers to develop and communicate requirements for new power supply components responsible for energy storage and transformation.
- Define and maintain requirements for the power supply controls, power supply components, and those components that communicate and control all modules using electrical loads.
- Develop Power Supply Level System DFMEAs (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), including implementations to manage severity and/or occurrence.
- Define test plans to validate all requirements and functional performance.
- Coordinate cross-functional solutions across component Design & Release teams to achieve power supply system-level and component requirements and objectives.
- Support all quality documents required for manufacturing builds and test requirements.
- Interface with the Architecture team, test team, and all key stakeholders to validate all requirements and key functional performance.
- Troubleshoot power supply components and in-vehicle systems.
- Work in a High Voltage Lab environment.
- Develop testing procedures, create requirements, and collaborate closely with feature system engineers.
Product Definition & Strategy:
- Translate product prototypes and structured feedback into detailed user stories and Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) to improve cross-functional clarity and enhance launch quality for power supply systems.
- Define Minimum Viable Product (MVP) scope and roadmap milestones by synthesizing Voice of Customer (VOC) insights and competitive benchmarking data, enabling prioritization of high-impact features, accelerating time-to-launch, and increasing early user engagement.
Data Analysis & Quality Assurance:
- Apply principles of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Data Analysis & Visualization, Risk Analysis, Feature Prioritization, FMEA, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Leverage product analytics to assess churn rate and activation funnels, driving backlog reprioritization across Agile cycles.
- Analyze churn risks by evaluating Net Promoter Score (NPS) trends, feature request frequencies, and usage data.
- Test and validate prototypes in real-world conditions by integrating data to ensure product and performance requirements are met for faster deployment.
What you'll bring (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2+ years of system engineering experience in the automotive industry or a related field.
- 2+ years of design and release experience in the automotive industry or a related field.
Even better, you may have (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 4+ years of automotive industry system engineering experience.
- 4+ years of automotive industry design and release experience.
- 2+ years of product launch experience.
- Experience with JIRA/JAMA/GPDS/Integrator systems.
- Working level knowledge of CAN/CAN-FD, AUTOSAR, and Cyber Securities.

Travel Requirements:
- Minimal travel is expected, primarily to supplier sites for design reviews or battery assembly build sites if required.
