Clinical Case Manager Supervisor

Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, Director of Outpatient Services, and the Outpatient Direct Services administrator, the Clinical Case Manager Supervisor will provide oversight of the DWIHN outpatient services case management team. The position will implement the policies and procedures of the Outpatient Direct Services Clinics and provide direct services, supervision, oversight, and management of the DOC Case Management Team. This position will be required to perform duties outside of traditional office hours to support the team and persons served.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides oversight and direct supervision of the case management team
• Oversees compliance with DWIHN and DOC policies and procedures
• Manages the effectiveness of clinical case managers
• Provides ongoing monitoring of caseload management
• Completes performance evaluations
• Provides education and guidance related to evidence-based practice interventions
• Ensures communication between case managers and other clinical team members
• Mentors and supports clinical case managers offering guidance on complex cases
• Addresses and resolves complaints or concerns
• Ensures proper documentation of all clinical activities and interventions
• Provides coaching and guidance for the completion of progress notes, assessments, treatment plan development, and authorizations
• Ensures compliance with caseload document deadlines (consents, services reviews, reassessments, treatment plans, and authorizations)
• Ensures compliance with frequency of contacts as clinically necessary
• Monitors service activity logs, appointments, and schedules for accuracy
• Monitors compliance with productivity expectations
• Monitors member satisfaction services and assigned case holders
• Provides community-based outreach to case managers for training and/or support for complex cases
• Provides direct case coverage support for the case management team
• Provides direct case coordination and clinical case management services
• Addresses and resolves employee concerns
• Assists to create a healthy, supportive, and respectful working environment for the case management team and all DOC employees

• Knowledge of DWIHN policies, procedures, and practices
• Knowledge of the DWIHN provider network and community resources
• Knowledge of the Michigan Mental Health Code
• Knowledge of MDHHS policies, rules, regulations, and procedures
• Knowledge of Federal policies, rules, regulations, and procedures as it relates to DWIHN
• Knowledge of Behavioral Healthcare management principles and practices
• Knowledge of diverse treatment modalities, therapeutic intervention, evidenced-based practices, and diagnostic principles
• Knowledge of MHWIN
• Knowledge of the LOCUS model
• Knowledge of oversight of direct care clinics
• Knowledge of oversight of clinical operations for a large behavioral health operation
• Knowledge of the clinical care process (screening, assessment, treatment planning, case management, and continuing care)
• Knowledge of and ability to use screening and assessment tools for behavioral health services
• Knowledge of the continuum of care for persons diagnosed with mental illness, substance use, and serious emotional disturbance
• Knowledge of services: Outpatient, Co-Occurring services, Case Management, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), Evidence Based Supported Employment, and Med Drop services
