Common Ground is seeking a Mobile Crisis Clinician to join the Oakland Collaborative Crisis Response (OCCR) team. This position will work from the Pontiac and Bingham Farms locations to serve Oakland County. As a member of the OCCR team, the Mobile Crisis Clinician partners with Crisis Support Specialists to respond in-person to crisis calls in Oakland County that cannot be resolved through the Resource & Crisis Hub via phone.
This position will utilize best practices in crisis intervention in behavioral health (mental health and substance use) prevention and postvention crisis services, education, crisis stabilization services, short-term treatment (i.e. strength-based crisis therapy, cognitive-behavioral interventions, mindfulness approaches, anger management, and coping skills), and follow up services until connected to an ongoing services provider. The team serves children, adolescents, adults, seniors and families as well as schools, neighborhoods, organizations and businesses by providing up to 30 days of in-home crisis counseling to people in crisis to facilitate immediate stabilization of emotions and behavior.
The OCCR team is supported by the resources of a crisis center, partnerships with local Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs), and the Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC), all of which includes Psychiatrists and Nurses, as well as a continuum of crisis services for which the Mobile Crisis Clinician has access.
Education: Master's degree in the Human Service field
Licensure: Active, unrestricted Michigan clinical license (e.g., LLMSW, LCSW/LMSW, LLPC, LPC, MLP) required. All Limited License Master Social Workers (LLMSW), Limited License Professional Counselors (LLPC), and Temporary Limited License Psychologists (TLLP) must receive their permanent license (LMSW, LPC, LLP) within 5 years from the issue date of the original limited/temporary license as published in the State of Michigan LARA system in order to continue their employment
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience working with people with mental health, substance use and/or developmental disabilities, including children, adolescents, and families. Experience working in crisis intervention or emergency mental health services. Experience with broad range of age groups and disabilities, including children. Experience with persons with co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorder. Mobile crisis response, strongly preferred
Certifications: Valid Michigan driver's license, clean driving record regarding eligibility for insurability under Common Ground's insurance policy. Meets criteria as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) defined by the State of Michigan. Meets criteria as a Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP) defined by the state of Michigan.
