Great Lakes Energy is looking for a member service coordinator to support and coordinate efficient scheduling, call center support, cashiering, and reception duties. For over 85 years, Great Lakes Energy has powered rural communities across 26 counties in western and northern Michigan. As the third-largest Michigan-based electric utility and the state's largest member-owned power company, we serve over 128,000 meters with pride. Beyond delivering reliable electricity, we are leaders in advanced fiber technology through Truestream, our communication solutions subsidiary. At Great Lakes Energy, we prioritize enriching the lives of our community members and employees. With over 300 team members, we're more than just colleagues-we're a close-knit family, united by a shared vision of growth, innovation, and community service.
A day in the life of a member service coordinator at GLE is all about variety. As a member service coordinator at GLE, you'll experience a dynamic blend of responsibilities that range from member support to coordinating construction efforts. You'll be on the front lines-cashiering, handling calls, and even serving as backup for our call center. Think of yourself as a "traffic director," ensuring smooth coordination between our members' needs and operations scheduling. Though you'll have a primary reporting location, you may occasionally be called to assist at one of our other seven service areas, so adaptability and flexibility are essential.
You're someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment where multitasking is second nature. You enjoy variety in your daily work and take pride in providing excellent service to members. You're comfortable using different computer programs and can communicate effectively without face-to-face contact. Teamwork and coordination are at the heart of this role, and you bring a high school education along with customer service experience from any industry. We would love to see electric distribution coordination or call center experience, but we're open to a variety of backgrounds for this entry-level role.
