Responsible for the development and design of mechanical structures and components for products and solutions in line with time and cost targets. Concept design. Assembly drawing and bill of materials development. Detailed drawing and manufacturing specification definition. Design automated systems to optimize warehouse space, streamline picking and packing processes, and ensure efficient inventory management. Implement and maintain systems such as conveyors, automated storage, and retrieval systems (AS/RS), and robotic picking systems. Integrate and maintain systems that track inventory levels, order fulfillment rates, and restocking requirements. Incorporate robotic solutions where applicable, from robotic arms for picking to autonomous mobile robots for transportation within the warehouse. Ensure that scanning and tracking systems are properly integrated and functional for inventory tracking. Enhance the accuracy and efficiency of palletization, ensuring products are stacked securely and are ready for transportation with minimal errors. Use warehouse simulation tools to predict the performance of automation strategies and ensure systems function seamlessly during peak times. Ensure that automated components are seamlessly integrated with WMS for real-time data flow and optimal decision-making. Regularly inspect and maintain automation systems to ensure minimal downtime and disruptions in the fulfillment process. Implement and maintain safety systems to protect workers from automated machinery and to ensure safe operations within the warehouse. Monitor the performance metrics of automated systems and make adjustments to improve speed, accuracy, and efficiency. Train warehouse staff on new automation systems, ensuring they can operate and troubleshoot basic issues. Engage with suppliers of automation equipment, ensuring the best solutions are sourced, integrated, and maintained. Gather data from automated systems to provide insights into inventory levels, order fulfillment rates, and system performance. Use this data for continuous improvement.
