- Create 3D mechanical assemblies and 2D detail drawings following corporate standards, general machine specifications and Automation group guidelines.
- Maintain accurate Bill of Materials for automation designs in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to specify purchased components, quote, procure, plan for build/installation, troubleshoot and shipping for production automation processes.
- Communicate with vendors to quote, procure, and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Work closely with controls engineers and mechanical builders to solve issues.
- Maintain accurate drawings after modifications (red marks and revision level).
- Perform engineering calculations and/or SolidWorks FEA when required.
- Conduct design reviews with customers, answering their questions and concerns.
- Ability to work diligently toward project timelines and budgets.
- Ability to be "Hands on" with automation projects when required.
- Concept, quote, procure, and implement solutions to various assembly and transformational product processes.
- Design flexible assembly solutions following corporate standards, general machine specifications and guidelines.
- Research and prove out innovative ways to improve processes making them more efficient and flexible.
- Incorporate industry's best practices and lessons learned into all designs.
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong Mechanical aptitude.
- Blueprint reading skills & familiarity with GD&T.
- Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics/ prints and how these systems interact.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Understanding and communicating technical details.
Software Experience: Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks (modeling, assembly, detailing), MS Office Suite.
Mechanical Engineering or related field/experience.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in designing automation equipment.
