GM Defense (GMD) is a dynamic growth business within General Motors. Within GMD, the Integrated Product Support (IPS) organization ensures our customers receive world-class aftermarket support. The IPS team is accountable to ensure that our products are designed and developed with supporting documentation and products to be sustainable throughout their entire lifecycle. This includes all GMD vehicles worldwide—spanning service part release, technical manuals, parts cataloging, diagnostic software, service programming, design-for-serviceability inputs, field service support and spare parts. We are hiring an Integrated Product Support Assistant Project Manager to work closely with multiple Program Managers to plan and oversee the execution of all IPS tasks and projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and within scope. Key duties include defining project scope to executable department tasks, working within the IPS department to ensure the proper resources are allocated, overseeing the budget, and communicating with stakeholders. Additionally, managing risks, tracking progress, and solving problems to keep the projects on track. The IPS Assistant Project Manager will also assist in proposal bid preparation and statement of work reviews to ensure compliant proposals.

Bachelor's Degree or Commercial/Government training in related disciplines. 5+ years of relevant work experiences in Defense, Integrated Product Support or Aftersales. Experience in leading program/project management in an engineering, quality or logistics position. Understanding of project management and vehicle sustainment. Previous experience with government contracted programs is required: (Preferred experience with Department of Defense (DOD)/Department of State (DOS)). Ability to define processes within a lean organization. Passion for understanding the customer needs and delivering an exceptional product. Familiarity with DoD/defense program environments and standards. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to comfortably interface with all levels of GM and Government Leadership. Comfort learning new tools and technology concepts quickly. Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and demanding time frames. Candidate must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee or refugee). Eligible to obtain Secret U.S. Security Clearance after hire.
Experience with DoD Engineering Change Process and/or Army Logistics Provisioning Processes. Familiar with the commercial SX000i Integrated Product Support and related S-Serries Logistics Specifications. Experience with Army technical manuals MIL-STD (Military Standard) and MIL-PRF (Military Performance Specification) documents. Strong working knowledge of vehicle/service deliverables (e.g., service parts release, tech pubs, diagnostics, provisioning) and downstream impacts. Exposure to defense export control constraints and data handling.
