In this position… The heavy duty (HD) Ford trucks are anchors in the Ford business, and they are more critical now than ever. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced manager to join our team as the HD Truck Platform Chief. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for leading platform engineering for the HD trucks while coordinating with the light duty trucks and utilities to drive scale, quality, and enable efficient development of amazing products that our customers will love. To be successful in this role, you will recognize yourself as an effective problem solver across all skill teams, with strong technical and leadership skills, and have demonstrated success and delivery in a high-pressure environment. You will be a key leader of our HD Crown Jewel products but will also directly affect business results for an outsized portion of the company.

What you'll do…

  • Drive Commonality and Scale across Heavy Duty and Light Duty truck and utility derivatives
  • Lead bundled platform development to minimize future investment and churn for heavy duty variants
  • Lead underbody on time high quality underbody gateways for heavy duty truck derivatives
  • Leverage of team rooms to enable speed in decision-making, issue resolution and milestone stability
  • Deliver platform scale efficiency in material cost and investment working with Supply Chain and Engineering teams
  • Identify and deliver efficient platform solutions that support program quality targets and customer needs

You'll have…

  • Vehicle Architecture and/or Vehicle Engineering and/or Design and Release experience
  • Program management and/or systems engineering experience
  • Prior experience with platform engineering highly preferred
  • Engineering degree is required and Masters is preferred
  • Experience coaching and mentoring a new and growing team

  • Act as a partner to the Chief Program Engineers to drive exceptional successful program delivery
