Farmworker Position in Shelby County, Ohio

Four (4) farmworkers are needed in Shelby County, Ohio, to handle fruits, vegetables, pumpkins, ramps, mushrooms, and similar crops. Duties include preparing fields, seeding and transplanting, irrigating and draining areas, applying chemicals, harvesting and digging crops, weeding, raking, covering plants, and general seasonal grounds cleanup. Workers will cut and remove brush, trim tree limbs using hand tools and chainsaws, dig holes for transplanting and harvesting, prepare hardwood logs for mushroom production, and shovel dirt and gravel. Employees will also operate tractors, skid steers, loaders, utility vehicles, lawn and garden equipment, and pickup trucks. Additional responsibilities include repair and construction work in greenhouses, growing facilities, housing, fences, irrigation and drainage systems, and other farm structures. Three months of experience is required. The job is physically demanding and requires lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds, climbing ladders, and performing outdoor manual labor in various weather conditions.
