Electrical Engineer

Join a dynamic team of Electrical Engineers responsible for designing and writing specifications for electric power distribution, control systems, industrial lighting, motor controls, and more. Support various projects, including municipal, commercial, water/wastewater, and industrial. Collaborate closely with Civil, Structural, Architectural, Survey, and Environmental teams while communicating with clients and subconsultants. Minimal travel is required as site visits are mainly around metro Detroit. This position is based in a local metro Detroit office with the opportunity for remote work one day a week after an initial training period of 4-6 weeks.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and write specifications for electric power distribution, control systems, industrial lighting, and motor controls.
  • Support municipal, commercial, water/wastewater, and industrial projects.
  • Coordinate with in-house Civil, Structural, Architectural, Survey, and Environmental disciplines.
  • Communicate effectively with various clients and subconsultants.
  • Assist with construction engineering tasks.
  • Participate in site visits weekly, mainly around metro Detroit.

Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
  • Minimum of 1 year of practical work experience in electrical power distribution design/engineering
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or the willingness to take the FE Exam soon

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ability and willingness to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) license within a year
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Experience with water/wastewater or municipal projects
  • Skills in low and medium voltage power system design
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical Design and Revit

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $39.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
