Senior Specialist, Embedded Devops
This role serves as a senior technical authority responsible for the design, ownership, and continuous improvement of enterprise-grade DevOps platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The engineer will lead cloud-native CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and containerized deployment strategies supporting multiple teams and environments. This is not a junior or mid-level DevOps role. The position requires deep hands-on expertise, architectural judgment, and proven experience operating production systems at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and evolve DevOps platforms across the full software lifecycle, from source control through production deployment
- Design, operate, and troubleshoot production-grade Cloud Run services, including load balancing, IAM, security controls, and artifact management
- Architect, deploy, and maintain high-availability Jenkins controllers, including version upgrades, plugin governance, and secure pipeline execution
- Design and manage dynamic Jenkins build nodes on GCP, optimizing cost, performance, and scalability
- Author, maintain, and debug reusable Terraform modules supporting standardized infrastructure deployment
- Lead container build, versioning, and promotion strategies using Artifact Registry
- Improve deployment reliability, release velocity, and security posture through automation and DevSecOps practices
- Diagnose and remediate complex CI/CD, infrastructure, and cloud-runtime failures in production environments
- Act as a DevOps subject-matter expert, influencing standards, tooling decisions, and best practices across teams
Skills Required:
Required Technical Expertise (Must-Have):
- Google Cloud Platform – Advanced
- Google Compute Engine: VM provisioning, debugging, image creation with Packer
- GCP Load Balancing: configure, troubleshoot, and optimize traffic routing
- Artifact Registry: manage container images and lifecycle controls
- CI/CD & Automation:
- Jenkins: deploy and maintain Jenkins controllers, perform version upgrades and plugin lifecycle management, implement secure, scalable pipelines, provision and manage dynamic build agents on GCP
- Infrastructure as Code:
- Terraform: write and maintain modular, reusable Terraform code, debug state, provider, and deployment issues, integrate Terraform into CI/CD workflows
- Containers: build, secure, version, and deploy container images, promote artifacts across environments using automated pipelines
Skills Preferred:
- Cloud Run: design, deploy, secure, debug, and scale production services
- Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE): namespace management, Helm-based deployments
- GCP Networking: advanced debugging of proxies, load balancers, NEGs, and connectivity issues
- DevSecOps, IAM hardening, and compliance-driven CI/CD
Experience Required:
- 7+ years of professional DevOps or platform engineering experience
- Demonstrated ownership of CI/CD platforms and cloud infrastructure in production environments
- Experience leading or standardizing DevOps practices across teams
