Customer Service Specialist 2 - Health

The Customer Service Specialist 2 - Health under general supervision, performs clerical duties including: typing, answering the telephone, preparing correspondence, and completing various forms and paperwork. Schedule meetings, conference calls, and training groups. Maintain files and records. Code data for input for electronic data processing; inputs and retrieves data using computers. Track project milestones as directed by the Team Leader. Follow local and state policy on confidentiality. Issue Customer Satisfaction Surveys. Conduct client registration, data entry for billing, Order general office supplies, inventory capital assets. Navigate clients through the services area; Maintain a current contact list for community resources and stakeholders.

Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, literature review, and new developments for relevant programs; the principles and practices of administration as they apply to the promotion of and coordination of programs and services in the area of specialization; and the methods of determining community and client needs and resources in the area health promotion; and current research methodology in the areas of program planning, evaluation, and monitoring. The ability to gather information on service programs and operations and to analyze and evaluate service data for compliance with contract terms: interpret local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and ordinances and to resolve agency problems; and prepare detailed written reports of finding, conclusions, and recommendations and to express ideas effectively both orally and in writing.

Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree or equivalent coursework, with specialization in Public Administration, Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field preferred. OR High School diploma and two (2) years high volume customer service experience.

Evaluation Plan: Interview: 70% + Evaluation of Training, Experience & Personal Qualifications: PASS/FAIL (30%) + Total of Interview and Evaluation T.E.P: 100% Additional points may be awarded for: Veteran Points: 0 – 15 points + Detroit Residency Credit: 15 points

RETIREMENT BENEFITS: City Employees Retirement System As a regular City employee you automatically become a member of the General Retirement System. This entitles you to a retirement allowance after: Completion of thirty (30) years of service; At age sixty (60) if you have at least ten (10) years of service, or At age sixty-five (65) with eight (8) years of service. In the event of disability, other eligibility rules apply); An early, actuarially reduced, retirement is offered after you have attained at least twenty-five (25) years of service; Employees are vested after ten (10) years of service, regardless of age.
