Clinical Technician (Entry-Level)

A full-service home medical equipment provider is seeking a Clinical Technician to support Respiratory Therapists in the setup and instruction of respiratory equipment at hospitals and assisted living facilities. This is a hands-on role that combines technical setup, patient education, and customer service.

Schedule & Training + Hours:

  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
  • Training: Approximately 1 month of hands-on training with management

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Respiratory Department staff in delivering and setting up respiratory equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, oxygen systems, nebulizers, etc.)
  • Educate patients and caregivers on equipment usage and maintenance
  • Explain financial responsibilities and complete required documentation (delivery tickets, safety checklists, instruction forms)
  • Serve as a Customer Service Representative when not on location: Answer inbound/outbound calls and emails, Process orders and referrals, Schedule equipment delivery and setup, Route calls and follow up with patients and providers

On-Call Rotation (Post-Contract):

  • Participate in a monthly on-call rotation (1–3 times/month)
  • Remote work during on-call hours with access to a secure, private location and Wi-Fi
  • Compensation includes hourly wage for time spent on calls plus a stipend: Weekdays (5pm–9pm): $25 stipend, Weekends (9am–9pm): $60 stipend

Post Contract:

  • Travel: Local travel using a company vehicle; typically within 1–2 hours of Lansing. Frequency varies based on patient and hospital needs.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in healthcare administration, insurance, billing, claims, or customer service
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn new systems quickly
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience handling medical claims or insurance documentation
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
