Controls Service Engineer

The Controls Service Engineer will provide remote technical support for automated material handling systems, with a focus on DLN Controls solutions. The role involves acting as the primary customer interface for troubleshooting and resolving PLC automation issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle remote support calls and resolve system errors.
  • Diagnose issues via VPN and remote tools; maintain accurate service records.
  • Troubleshoot PLC programs (Ladder, STL, SCL, FBD) and electrical circuits.
  • Support system commissioning and maintain PLC code version control.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends; travel up to 25%.

Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor's in Electrical/Controls Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC programming, including RSLogix.
  • Understanding of electrical schematics, networking, and communication protocols (Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP).
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Remote access and support experience.
  • Proficiency with computers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Material handling knowledge is a plus.

Work Environment:

  • The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, onsite at DLN with one day remote.
  • The engineer will be on call every other weekend alongside another software engineer.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wyoming, MI.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $33.65/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
