Job Opportunity: Gas Feature Section Powertrain Calibration Engineer

Calibration team is looking for a qualified candidate to join the Gas Feature section to develop powertrain applications. Ford Powertrain Calibrators work in a team environment to deliver production ready powertrain calibrations, on time, with efficiency and quality. Responsibilities are based in laboratory, may require travel for in-vehicle development at test facilities in Michigan, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, and Canada. Interested candidates do not require Calibration experience, but it is certainly a plus. Candidates who apply should be willing to grow, learn, and develop into a powertrain calibration engineer in a very exciting, demanding, and fast-paced environment.

The position available will be part of a team that is responsible for leading various aspects of the Super Duty Gasoline powertrain calibration. These responsibilities include Engine Emissions, On Board Diagnostic (OBD) and all various interactions with these dynamic systems. Develop powertrain control calibrations that meet all program emissions, fuel economy, performance, drivability, and diagnostics metrics that meet program timing requirements. Conduct laboratory tests to validate engine and vehicle emissions, fuel economy, performance, drivability, and diagnostics. Conduct in-vehicle testing and development in S.E. Michigan and at locations in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, and Northern Canada may be required.

You'll have:

  • B.S. Engineering (BSME or BSEE or similar) required
  • Experience with Calibration Tools (ATI, Matlab, CFX, Vector/Canalyzer, and JIRA system)
  • 6+ years of experience with Calibration
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Open to traveling up to 20% domestic travel.

Even better, you may have:

  • MSME or MSEE preferred
  • Combustion Engine after treatment experience preferred.
  • Strong statistical knowledge familiarity with Worldwide Emission Regulatory Requirements.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand Simulink flow diagrams and C programming source code.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
