Hourly range for RSAM Registered Nurses (12+ months experience): $43.10 - $67.03 / hour

Evening Shift Differential- $3.00 / hour

Night Shift Differential- $4.00 / hour

Day Shift Weekend Differential- $2.90 / hour

Evening Shift Weekend Differential- $5.90 / hour

Night Shift Weekend Differential- $6.90 / hour

Charge Nurse Differential- $1.00 / hour

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinator will be expected to cross train to all areas of cell therapy
  • Provide quality care to patients, families, and donors preparing for bone marrow transplant.
  • Work as a nurse member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide functional supervision of clerical staff.
  • Provide clinical direction and support for the Bone Marrow Transplant team through consultation with nursing and other team members.
  • Provide continuity and coordination for the Bone Marrow Transplant population in the inpatient and ambulatory care settings.
  • Coordinate and participate in the development and implementation of patient and nursing education programs and materials relating to Bone Marrow Transplant.
  • Work with all cell therapy patients in an ambulatory care setting.

  • Demonstrated accountability and dependability including a good attendance record with punctuality.
  • Demonstrated adaptability to changing needs and priorities based on unit, department, and institutional goals/objectives.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills providing patient and family education and coaching.
  • Proficiency with typing and electronic health record documentation.
  • Ability to manage complex clinical issues utilizing assessment skills, protocols, and evidence-based interventions.
  • Willingness to adapt to different populations adult medicine as patient demands.
  • Demonstrated accountability and dependability for example, completion of work, mandatories, goal setting within established timelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal (including phone) skills with physicians, peers, and patients as demonstrated by previous employment, references, and evaluations are a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and delegate effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other team members.

Requirements:

  • Current nursing license to practice nursing in the State of Michigan.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing OR Associates degree/diploma in Nursing along with a Master’s degree in Nursing
  • Two (2) years of Bone Marrow Transplant and/or Acute Leukemia (Heme/Onc) RN experience within the last five (5) years.

Work Schedule:

Hours: 40 hrs/wk (1.0 FTE) Shift: Day Shift, Monday-Friday. Flexible hours to meet program needs. May require weekends and holidays

Location: This position is located in CW MOTT clinic and infusion area. All new employees are expected to float in times of low census.

Union Affiliation: This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
