 
                                                
                                            Position Summary: Oversees and assists in the correct housekeeping functions and procedures pertinent to the maintenance of guest rooms, corridors, conference rooms, dining rooms, and public areas. Oversees and assists in maintenance of proper housekeeping techniques to ensure efficiency of operations and to eliminate waste and spoilage. Assists in the control of linen and housekeeping supplies, maintaining counts and reports as required. Assists in instructing assigned support employees in proper housekeeping techniques. Assists in operation of Lost and Found functions. Acts for Housing Services Supervisor/Kellogg Center in her/his absence and as otherwise required. Coordinates with MSU Laundry regarding incoming and outgoing laundry. Advises supervisors of needed repairs and maintenance of furnishings.
Minimum Requirements: Working knowledge of institutional housekeeping techniques is necessary. Graduation from high school or equivalent training and experience is necessary. Two years satisfactory experience as a Building Services Worker or an equivalent combination of training and experience is necessary. Willingness to work a flexible shift is necessary. Standards of personal hygiene consistent with sanitation rules and regulations is necessary. Occasional lifting of 26 to 75 pounds is required.
