Av Fleet Data Recording Team Systems Engineer
The Role: The AV Fleet Data Recording team is responsible for the Design, Requirements, Integration, Validation and Execution of AV Data Recording Pipeline. As a Systems Engineer in the AV Fleet Data Recording team, you will be responsible for gathering and documenting the requirements and use-cases utilizing the Fleet Data Recording pipeline (SLU). You will also be involved in initial integration and execution of the new functionality developed. As we move into the future of AV, ensuring we have the right data to understand our product performance and drive decisions is a top priority. This engineer will be working on production level software/calibrations and doing hands-on work in vehicles, on benches, and in simulation environments.
What You'll Do:
- Understand the different customer use cases for data and decompose the PRD into Feature Level Spec defining the strategy for data collection solutions/design
- Understand algorithms in your area of responsibility and participate in developing and improving software, calibration quality and efficiency
- Integrate new Data Recording SW into vehicles, benches or simulation as required
- Define test cases for new use cases and functionality added
- Efficiently collect and analyze the test data
- Lead the triage of issues and communicate bugs and issues directly with software teams
- Understand vehicle proliferation and regional cal differences
- Design tests to efficiently find opportunities for design improvements
- Make recommendations based on work completed, share lessons learned with the team members and keep EGM informed of assignment status, timing, and technical issues
Your Skills & Abilities:
- 3+ years of overall engineering experience
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Mechanical Engineering
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional discipline activity
- Thorough knowledge of complex mechanical and electrical concepts
- High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex
- Strong ability to work with computer-based tools to collect and analyze data
- High level of oral and written communication skills
- Ability to travel as needed to support product development and testing
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge:
- DFSS Black Belt
- 2+ years of experience with Systems Engineer and familiarity with requirements management tool (DNG)
- 2+ years of automotive experience in testing, development, and calibration (preferably with ETAS/INCA calibration tools)
- 1+ years of experience working in Matlab/Simulink
- Experience with Serial Data busses, including LIN, CAN, GMLAN, Flexray and Ethernet
- Experience with QNX Momentix and working in Azure Environment
- Hands on programming experience with Python or other shell scripting
- Familiar with Android Studio and Wireshark
- Experience working inside QNX Environment
