Accounting Operations Manager

Design Systems, Inc. (DSI) is seeking an energetic, self-motivated, and team-oriented Accounting Operations Manager to oversee our administrative and accounting operations. This is a critical role that acts as a liaison between management, project managers, accounting teams, and customers-with a strong emphasis on invoicing, accounts receivable, and financial process optimization. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is excited about contributing to the strategic direction and operational success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a liaison between internal teams and external clients, balancing the financial and administrative needs of all parties-focused primarily on invoicing and accounts receivable (A/R).
• Interface with external CPA firms to fulfill all corporate financial and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with Mexican and Canadian office accounting services to ensure accurate, timely, and fully reconciled financial statements across the company.
• Lead and participate in general business management activities, contributing to the improvement of strategies, processes, internal controls, and overall operational performance.
• Utilize data from our Vantagepoint ERP systems to analyze corporate performance and trends for continuous improvement initiatives.
• Become a strong user of our Deltek Vantagepoint ERP system to support and improve accounting and reporting processes.
• Oversee the company's corporate insurance renewals including liability insurance, ensuring adequate coverage is maintained while identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
• Monitor, review, and analyze corporate expenses and make data-driven recommendations for cost savings.
• Manage and mentor the administration team, ensuring the department supports business objectives and maintains high performance.
• Support financial analysis and project accounting practices to ensure sound fiscal management across engineering projects.

Qualifications:

• Preferred Education: B.S. in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience: 7-10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a consulting or engineering firm.
• Proven knowledge of project accounting concepts and practices.
• Strong working knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint or similar ERP systems is highly desirable.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams and external partners.
• High level of initiative and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing administrative teams or functions.
