Job Description

• Design, develop, and optimize Swiss-type machining processes for complex, precision components
• Collaborate with machining, programming, quality, and engineering teams to support new product launches and ongoing production
• Create and refine process documentation, work instructions, tooling layouts, and manufacturing routings
• Provide hands-on support to the shop floor, troubleshooting machining, tooling, and process issues as needed
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on cycle time reduction, scrap reduction, and process stability
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to quality or production issues
• Evaluate machining methods, tooling, and fixturing to improve manufacturability and cost efficiency
• Assist with capacity planning, process validation, and production readiness for new and existing programs
• Serve as a technical resource for Swiss machining best practices and process standardization

The Successful Applicant

• Proven experience supporting Swiss-type CNC machining in a precision manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling selection, and GD&T for tight-tolerance components
• Experience working in high-mix, low-to-medium volume production environments
• Ability to troubleshoot complex machining and process issues directly on the shop floor
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with machinists, programmers, and quality teams
• Solid problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
• Comfortable balancing desk-based engineering work with hands-on manufacturing support
• Experience with continuous improvement, cost reduction, or cycle time optimization initiatives
