Quality Engineer
Our client, part of a largely stable global organization, is a leading manufacturer and distributor of fasteners, washers, and pins, primarily for the automotive industry. Serving nearly all of the high-profile automotive OEMs, our client takes great pride and accountability for quality and operational excellence. This role will be based at the primary distribution facility, with minimal travel to production sites in the area as needed.
Job description includes:
- Address customer complaints for automotive OEMs, taking the lead on corrective actions
- Work with site level leadership across sites to ensure that root cause analysis and problem solving outcomes are shared and addressed
- Ensure internal and external stakeholders are aligned for customer quality concerns
- Involved in preparation and execution of internal and external audits for IATF16949 and other compliance
- Ensure document control is maintained within the QMS, continuously improving clarity there
- Handle PFMEAs, Non Conformance Reporting, and other core quality activity
- Work cross functionally and across production sites to ensure proper corrective and preventative actions are taken

The successful applicant will have:
- Bachelors Degree required - engineering/technical discipline preferred
- 5-6+ years of experience in Quality Engineering
- 2+ years of experience specifically with automotive manufacturing - IATF knowledge required
- Experience working with customers - customer complaints, corrective actions
- Experience with non-conformance reports
- Understanding of problem solving methodologies - 8D, 5Why, Fishbone, etc
- Ability to handle control plans, PFMEA/FMEA, and document control within the QMS
- Microsoft Office and general QMS/ERP system exposure
- APQP/PPAP experience
