Job Description
- Design and develop products and systems by analyzing customer requirements, market trends, and competitive products.
- Apply core engineering principles to product design, including mechanics, hydraulics and more
- Utilize SolidWorks 3D CAD software to create parts, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing and Assembly teams throughout design and prototype development to ensure manufacturable and production-ready solutions.
- Manage prototype development, including dimensional inspections, assembly, and coordination of outsourced components and secondary services.
- Verify product performance and system functionality by developing test plans, executing tests, collecting and analyzing data, and documenting findings.
- Develop item masters, bills of materials, and cost estimates for products in development.
- Prepare and maintain product instruction sheets and manuals using Composer, Microsoft Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Provide technical support to internal departments, including Manufacturing, Customer Service, and Production Planning.
- Plan, track, and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project.
- Support overall team objectives by completing additional tasks and responsibilities as needed.

The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor of science in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology Required
- 10+ years of progressive experience in a mechanical engineering role, supporting new product development and existing product development
- Strong project management skills
- Experience managing a team of technical staff - engineers, technicians, etc
- An Expert in CNC Machining (no programming required) and metal fabrication processes REQUIRED
- Experience with Casting, Forging
- Knowledge of Injection Molding for plastics and rubbers strongly preferred
- Experience managing design improvements as well as testing both in a lab/production facility and in the field
- MS Office Suite
- Experience with Assembly and Testing
